My rack of servers! (click for more pictures)
Siteground was a great hosting company to me. But it was time, time for me to get 20 dedicated servers of my own. Each has 8 250 Gigabyte hard drives in it totaling to a tremendous 40 Terabytes of storage! Thats 40,000 Gigabytes! Where did we put this honking rack of servers eh!? Well we decided after cleaning out our old freezer downstairs that over 3/4ths of what was in it was expired or trash, so we downsized to a much smaller freezer but kept the stand from the freezer, smart thinking Dad! Tonight was real special in the fact that Make-A-Wish of Illinois gave me a SECOND wish and this one cost a real HEAP, I think the total was around $400,000 that included all of the wiring for all the power needs of this behemoth. Our utilities won’t go up that much since the servers are highly power efficient but we still needed a huge amount of wiring done inside and outside to get them installed, and then we had to have Comcast run a dedicated fiber line with 1 Gigabyte per second down and half of a Gigabyte upload per second. Now in other more sad news, my 15″ Laptop hard drive is failing AGAIN so tomorrow we are taking it in for repair, as of right now I am posting this from my good ole 13″ MacBook Pro that does not have a Hitachi Travel*cough*Deathstar hard drive in it. It has a Toshiba. Toshiba drives are always good for me! I have some with well over 50,000 hours on them!
Me with my swimcap and gloves HAPPY!
A friend of mine who I have grown close with on flickr.com by the name of Sea Moon has sent me some cool presents. He owns a pair of silicone gloves and a few silicone swimcaps of his own but he wanted me to have my own to call well my own! I enjoy them soooo much! I find the Swimcap to be really relaxing to pull over my face and breathe and feel it suck tight and hug my face, feel the warmth. Thanks to my trach I can continue breathing as normal yet still feel the material hug closely to my face. The gloves are wonderful to wear along with the swimcap over my face. Though I wouldn’t dare to sleep like that! I’d put the swimcap on the right way, over my head, it is very tight and warm and feels wonderful, and then I would prolly fall asleep sucking my fingers through the thick silicone gloves. Either way Sea Moon, you found a pair of AWESOME gifts for me. THANK YOU!!! You rock!!!
