I don’t have a picture to use for this. I’m just pissed off. I took my macbook pro in today for the battery replacement and I knew that there were some display problems when using external display port but today the motherboard decided to give up to the ghost… at least right time in the right place like breaking a leg in front of the emergency room door of the hospital.
That being said im sick of how slow my current backup machine is, which is a dell hackintosh. 10 inch. So I’m going to get a macbook pro 13 inch thank god for saving up money in the assistive tech account! I will be buying the new computer sometime this week and will have photos and everything of it as usual with a new machine.
WOAH NELLY!!! Get that cat back in it’s cage!!! It looks like a mess and it’s breath can kill a horse! That thang still needs a lot of grooming! Ok thats humor speak for Mac OS X Lion not being ready at all. Parallels does not work, Little Snitch does not work. A lot of major Kernel Extensions (kexts) do not work yet because software developers are barely dipping their feet in it, it just came out what 2 days ago? I was lucky that a friend of mine put it on my laptop and I was able to get Apple to give me a refund exception since I am in no way a developer. I might be a nerd but I am not a developer! I think I will wait to get Lion till it’s all groomed. As with all “Developer” Previews I am under NDA so I can’t tell you much more about OS X Lion though all the cool features like Mission Control and Launchpad are looking pretty great. I look forward to it’s public release. Did I mention it boots up REALLY FAST.
Emily in whole, a bday card
Well well well, FINALLY I got around to taking the photos and the video and editing it all, I really took a lot of photos but it was very late in comparison to Mel1′s birthday, oh well. As you all should know I am Objectum Affectionate, if not hit the link. Anywho one of my loves turned 3 on the 25th of this month, She be my lead apron Emily born February 25th 2009. I finally took all the photos last night and A bunch this morning and a short video on how I get in and out of this HUGE lead apron. It goes all the way down to my ankles. I absolutely love it/her. Absolute comfort in the 30 pounds of warmth.
I made a short but relatively low quality video of me getting in and out of my lead apron for you to see how I get in and out. It’s not easy but it’s fun and very stimulating for my senses.
Apparently the battery in my MacBook Pro is bad, I called Apple yesterday on suspicion that it keeps discharging a percentage point or two during charging and it’s maximum capacity is poor for only having 31 cycles on it, the woman immediately said NEW BATTERY FOR YOU! So I am going to go to Apple today to get the battery swap done. And it will be real quick, they set a battery aside for me and it will be a 15-30 minute deed. Nice!
I am going to Willow Creek on March 11th at 6:00 PMish for a Chris Tomlin concert that starts at 7:00 PM I will be sitting in the 3rd floor Balcony or on the floor depending on the accessibility. I have not been on the Willow Creek campus in like FOREVER. It will bring back so many good memories, I plan to go back routinely as soon as I get some logistical concerns and health concerns sorted out with mom and dad. It will be nice because I can make friends there and be reunited with some old friends. My ex girlfriend Melissa possibly still goes there but that means nothing to me anymore, her parents wrote me off and wrote a bunch of my friends off and told me and them to never come in contact with her or them again. So I have no desire anymore. Such a shame that such a sweet girl is going to waste. Very sad. But either way I AM GOING TO SEE CHRIS TOMLIN! If you do not know about my Objectum Affectionism then I suggest you learn about it now! The night before last night (The 18th) was Mel1, My harnesses birthday! She turned 3 as of yesterday! She is such a lovable harness and so good to snuggle up with and fall asleep with. I took these photos as part of her birthday. The photo above is her birthday card. She is such a beloved object to me. She was the very first, the one that showed me that I AM Objectum Affectionate. And then it just continued. Mel1 I will forever be indebted to you. And you Mel2 and Mel3 and Jenny. I love you all!!!
What sucks about sleeping REALLY REALLY good one night is the next night I get some nasty insomnia, oh well I will poop out… eventually..
We got our ducts cleaned in the AM today by Air Pride, the team they sent was great. Very respectful of my dust sensitivity and trach they were extremely careful of my room, they even let me smell the antimicrobial chemical before they injected it into the system so I could give it the “Alin approval” Mike and Mike were great guys from Air Pride who came to clean our ducts, if you wanna see some action click the photo above.
One thing that kind of baffled us is that our phones didn’t work after the duct cleaning, little did we know they jiggled some wires lose that my dad had to jiggle back into order. Old house old wiring Jiggle’s fix it.
My Miami J makes me relaxed it hits pressure points
Last night I decided to whip out my Miami J and sleep with that on cause of my neck pain, it is such a comfortable lovely collar and looks so nice. It hits a lot of pressure points on me and I fell asleep immediately around 12:45 AM today.

I woke up today at 7:00 AM and we were off to the show around 9:00 AM. I took a huge slew of photos which are available at flickr or by clicking the photo above and a video was made too! Suhweet. We plan to go back next year! In the video I interview the Chevy VOLT and the Nissan LEAF cars.
Yesterday we got a phone call at 5:30 PM saying MY LAPTOP WAS READY FOR PICKUP!!! I quickly called dad at his work and asked if he could pick it up for me and he said sure I can! I was so excited until 7 PM! I couldn’t wait I was itching to get it back. I got it back and here I am blogging from it!
In continuation to the laptop news I am planning to buying a new computer from Apple because I can no longer stand using the SLOW Dell Hackintosh, it might work for most people who do basic tasks but for me, video and photo editing and stuff, I need something with POWER. I designed a website for a friend of mine named Pamela, her husband Joshua Kalfus is an artist and his website is joshuakalfus.com it was a royal PAIN IN THE BUTT having to finish his website on a computer that would constantly hang! So I am hoping I can buy that new machine soon!

The chair waiting for me with a new back
I got a new back for my wheelchair yesterday by FedEx 5 minutes after I called my DME rep who said it should deliver today, how ironic! It’s moulded better for my spine and has a taller back than my older one. It’s taking a lil bit for my back to get used to but last night I decided to spend some time in my chair relaxing and also rubbing my neck and head on the warm silkyness of my headrest, the back is silky too so thats nice feeling too. Also when I was getting out of my chair I was so relaxed I was stimulating my senses with every single strap on there. So theres a photo series there showing me in my chair with the new back. I can’t wait to take it to the auto show and show off my new “automobile” hehe. Hopefully we will go tomorrow as media!
January 2011 Stats
As usual we saw a steady up trend in visitors in January which is good. Remember these statistics ARE lower than last year because I eliminated some un-necessary visiting bots!
I really HAATE hard drives at this point. Before they were nothing but just a tool. But at this point they are an enemy to me. Why do I say that, because my mac… It was the hard drive, and today one of my external drives decided to DIE, ugh! Great now I have to dig up money to get a new drive. Anyone who wants to toss money toward a new hard drive can hit the donate button and type in the memo “Hard Drive” once I hit $90 in donations I will say in the blog that the hard drive is closed and donations will go back to my general funds.
Yesterday we took my mac to the apple store and they said that the hard drive I have is out of stock in the store so they special ordered one with air delivery overnight so hopefully it should arrive to the store tomorrow or wednesday and my machine should be pick-up able at friday the latest wednesday the soonest. I am hoping for sooner!
Well my sleep is absolutely hellishly messed. That gets fixed tonight. I forgot to take some meds last night that help me sleep. Ugh, I was up till 7:00 AM or so watching stuff on my Mac and then I closed the lid and put it to sleep… I woke up around 3PM today, went to start working on my mac, hellishly slow the system was, even unresponsive in a lot of cases. Took forever to launch a program so I decided lets reboot. I rebooted, took forever to reboot, booted to the install disk and found out the filesystem was somehow corrupted. Well I didn’t touch it!!! What the hell!?! So then I went and tried doing a restore from Time Machine, big time no dice there… Wouldn’t even boot up. it’s been over 6 hours and I just tried to do a clean install, it seems like the hard drive has failed, it just won’t take anything. It hangs at this one spot in the installation in the very beginning at part of the disk check.
This all really sucks. I even tried it with a 10.5 disk and that does not even boot to the installer! UGH!

That pretty much means I need to get to the hospital urgently, within the next few days or the second alarm is going to sound when my pump is empty and I am going to need an ambulance to get me there FAST before I go into acute baclofen withdrawal which can be life threatening. Anywho we had an appointment for tomorrow with CODE REDpriority on it. That apparently got slashed when my spasticity started getting worse around noon. And we called the hospital and their outpatient care center is closed until further notice. The worsening spasticity is a bad sign so we called a CODE BLUE
