My new Apple Remote and We are PLEX’ed for media in the house!

YAY I got my remote

YAY I got my remote

I got lots of money for xmas. Not many presents but thats no big deal! I got CASH! And we have been using PLEX to run our movies in our house. plexapp.com is where you can pick it up. If you do it all the right way you can wire up your whole house to one dedicated “media server” it’s awesome! So I can watch one movie in my room while my parents watch another in the living room. All of our movies are stored on a central hard disk or NAS (Network Attached Storage)

YAY!

I am so happy. Now I can spend my insomnia watching movies

DUN FORGET TO SIGN IT!!! This Reminds me of a write in ballot lol. :D No Seriously, SIGN, YOUR, CARDS! PLEASE :D

My friend Harold relaxing in his Bongee Sling

My friend Harold relaxing in his Bongee Sling

Whats that!!! Thats my buddy Harold from Leather Oaks, he is a very sensory oriented guy. He is very friendly to me. He is the one who sent me the 12 Neoprene belts, that I absolutely LOVE to play with and stimulate my senses with, which helps me fall asleep. Much like me he seems autistic but is not diagnosed so we just call him sensory oriented. He becomes very relaxed by certain stimulus, like for example above being in the “Bongee Sling” which is a specialized suspension device He quotes “The Bongee sling is really about half a dozen padded sections.   Since they’re all individually adjustable (just raise up and readjust your weight if it doesn’t feel right), you can get yourself into some very comfortable situations.” All I can say here is IT LOOKS COMFY! You can see that his neck is supported and everything, wow does that look like a comforting device. He is very fun to talk to and we have been friends for over a year now and I hope to be friends with him for many years to come. He runs a garden railway which is on his website (see above the Leather Oaks link) and he has a bunch of other photos of him in gear. He especially loves leather, rubber, and well a lot of the stuff I like which I find ironic… Hey Harold, if I ever visit your gonna let me try out that sling thing right???!!?!? and a bunch of your rubber and leather right!?!?!? Ahh what a nice guy he is, he’d have sent a christmas gift this year but as we all know things are very tight economically. No pun intended with his tight leather belt he has on!

Hugs and lots of love to you Harold and everyone who loves and is a friend of mine!

Harold has been involved in my life for a long enough time so I decided to do whats right and give him residence on my links page.

His link looks like below and it’s on the links page!

http://www.leatheroaks.org Good friend of mine, likes leather, rubber and other sensory things, he runs a garden railway system, and is very sensory focused like me. (Site may contain mature themes)

However I do leave you all with this piece of advice, his site might contain some content not exactly totally family safe, but it’s all squeaky clean, no nudity. :)

Alright this is really ticking me off big time. I had huge computer issues Two yesterdays ago. and now tonight it was brought to my attention that the blog post I made today at 2:03 PM. Written like today at 2:03 AM. or whatever. I don’t remember, stupid insomnia. ANYWAYS, hopefully the dang blog system will work now without me MANUALLY having to force the post out!

Infections gone YAY!, Computer woes, and Chrome + Mac = bad read this before you chrome, and another xmas card!

As far as we know my Upper Respiratory Infection (URI) is gone and I am so glad. Having my sinuses and nose blocked up from the infection was a bugger but thankfully Bactrim knocks stuff out FAST. I was feeling better within a day or two but I wanted to wait to give the final news till I was more uhh, well, finished with the antibiotics.

Sad Mac

Sad Mac

Yesterday I had some serious computer woes, if you are an old mac user you recognize the “Sad Mac” face above, if not, let it be an icon for you to think of when your mac is down. I had to restore it from  Time Machine thank god for Time Machine. But unfortunately I lost my Windows Virtual Machine, serves me right. from now on I keep the virtual machine on the external drive, not the internal with the mac files until I figure out how to back it up with Time Machine. Thank god for Time Machine saving my main life. At least on my Windows Virtual Machine it’s all stuff I can just download again which I might conveniently place in a passworded package on my server… Anywho enough of the techno jargon as most of you won’t get it :P

Google Chrome vs Safari

Google Chrome vs Safari

Oops, I thought I said enough techno jargon, bring it on! Here we have two Icons, Chrome, and Safari next to each other. Well I’m gonna tell you something here. If you don’t mind having ALL your favicons and history GONE if you restore from Time Machine then use chrome. If stability is what you seek, tight system integration, and whatnot. Choose safari. Ok well this wasn’t a very good Google Vs Safari post, oh well its designed to be simple for regular people. Go read a techno-babble blog if you want a real post on it.

Harold's card and photos

Harold's card and photos

YAY! Another card hit the digitizer today. I love getting cards and digitizing them is half the fun! Thanks Harold from Leather Oaks. He is like me, loves rubber and leather. He is quite similar to an Autistic person but has not been diagnosed. I think he is Autistic

Anyways, I’m going to sleep night. Goodnight blog.

AJ card inside and photo

Well I’ve already started receiving Xmas cards in the mail so I decided that this year starts the year which I will digitize all cards and make them publically viewable (after striking personal info) so heres a card from AJ in Washington and then another one from my friend MeL down in Oklahoma! As the cards come in they will be digitized and added to the 2010 Holiday Cards Gallery. This being said if you send me a card that you want to remain private you MUST enclose in the envelope some sort of notice otherwise privacy is only offered to the striking of personal info! Oh and also click the card above to hit high resolution.

Oh and you think I forgot you, naaa, I got my card right below. If you want a printed copy just send your request via the Contact Me feature, if you did not send me a physical card you will need to send me money for the postage, if you sent a physical card then your card should be going in the mail within the next few days.

Respiratory infection declared, quarantine declared. Oh and I might get a Chrome OS Pilot computer, and WHY I need a Cr-48 laptop

A respiratory infection has been declared. FULL quarantine is in effect, NO visitors allowed to the house.

Google Cr-48

Google Cr-48

Now onto the INTERESTING news. You may have heard yesterday about the huge Google press conference officially opening the gates for these machines to start shipping to Developers, Testers, and regular users. I fall under the /Dev/User group, I’m a developer and a regular user. I hope I receive a Cr-48 netbook/notebook as these things tout awesome tech specs.

Specs of the device include a 12.1-inch display screen, a full size QWERTY keyboard, a webcam, a clickpad, a built-in Qualcomm Gobi 3G chip for Verizon data Usage in the US, 802.11n dual-band WiFi and Flash storage. The CR-48 will be able to handle an impressive 8 hours of active use, and it can remain on standby for 8 days according to Google. Oh and its totally unmarked, no markings anywhere. its cool!

You may be disappointed to hear that there is no caps lock button on the CR-48 though -as this has been replaced by a search button.

I never use Caps Lock anyway, I use shift most of the time and if I need to type a run on SENTENCE IN CAPS LOCK, HOW HARD IS IT TO HOLD YOUR FINGER ON SHIFT. I see no point in caps lock key, so Google taking it and replacing it with a search key, clever and smart!

Come on, thats some SWEET tech specs for a netbook/notebook. That’s pretty much a Google-ized MacBook Air only better since it runs Chrome OS and has no frills, no hard drive, no problems to deal with like corrupted system files! Did I mention that if somehow you DO break the system files they can self heal? Yeah you heard me, self healing system. Why cant ALL OS’s have it. Oh well. A Gobi chip, I’ve only seen that in full fledged high end laptops. Not a netbook now thats pioneering. 802.11n in a netbook! Thats new! Flash storage… Ahh, no more having to run smartmonutil every so often (SMART for hard disk status checker) a 12.1 In’ widescreen screen, never seen that on a netbook… This thing reminds me of my Droid X taking a whole bottle of steroids then mutating into a laptop… Theres no limit to what Cr-48 can do. So theres no limit to what it can do to you (Quote belongs to Verizon / Motorola not me) Now onto the reasons why I need a Cr-48 NOTEBOOK.

1. I get by with my Mac for heavy photo / video editing otherwise I’m on instant messenger and web apps all the time. and Anything I currently don’t do on the web (document editing and such) can easily be moved there.

2. I need my day to day machine to just work, no hassle no frills all speed and work just WORK. Not bashing anyones hardware or OS, I just want faster and stronger

3. I need something that is fast to learn easy to use and powerful, Chrome OS is all three when you add in webstore apps.

4. I need something totally cloud based. I don’t want to be spending more money on back up hard drives when i don’t need to. I don’t have money for that!!!!! (THIS IS A BIG ONE APPLE!!! BIG SLAP IN MY FACE!!!)

5. I need something that maintains its self, self updates, self fixes its self. I don’t want to sit there with boxes saying “YOU NEED TO UPDATE. SECURITY PROBLEM.”

6. I need something that does not need me to buy security software. I want it all to be right there built in.

The google Chrome OS and Cr-48 have all of the above or WILL have all of the above. This is why I deserve to get a Cr-48 for me to test.

I got a new ICU monitor! And it’s a lot like the MP40! Pain and Sleeping in my lead apron and UNRELEASED FOOTAGE! Sleeping with my headrest! And love for objects!?!

Well well well guess who ELSE pulled an Apple and decided to take back my Lemon ICU monitor and give me a shiny Waveline EZ Touch ICU-CCU monitor… DRE Medical! The one’s who facilitated my Make-A-Wish for my own ICU-CCU monitor. Thanks to Chris P. And Mike S. and as always Misty H. at DRE for facilitating this! You are all very appreciated for making things well… work! As with all MAW things and all things I get that are BIG I had to take Unboxing photos and video! EDIT: Video only since I forgot to take the dang photos. Oh well!

feels good to sleep like this, its warm on my cheek and smells good

feels good to sleep like this, its warm on my cheek and smells good

I am sure you all have seen and heard about my Lead Apron if not hit the link over <— there. Hit the photo up ^ there for photos of it.

But now I bring you NEVER before seen UNBOXING footage of me unboxing my lead apron and putting it on for the first time ever in lo-fi. Hey it’d be Hi-Fi IF I had remembered to record it. Thank GOD for my friend Amanda (libby). She recorded it for me and uncovered the footage just two nights ago… And now I bring you the lost footage. Isn’t that cool!

Last night, and tonight I will be sleeping with Mel2 (My headrest) as some of you may know I am considered Objectum-Affectionate which falls under the Objectum-Sexual umbrella. I am not sexually attracted to my special objects but they have a special place with me, I talk to them sub-consciously and they talk back, they are very helpful with how lonely I get. Ironic as it may seem all of them are named after my very first girlfriend Melissa, Mel1 is my harness, Mel2 is my headrest, Mel3 is my Littmann Cardiology III stethoscope. I unlike a sexual person don’t get “turned on” by them, I simply like them for comforting and loving me, snuggling and kissing. Like for example Mel2 my headrest in the photo above, I’m snuggled up kissing her right before I fall asleep. The video is below.

Now why I slept with mel2? I slept with her because I have been having serious problems with back and neck pain and apparently sleeping with her last night solved it! I woke up with NO PAIN! So tonight I didn’t take any painkiller and I am going to sleep with her again. Heres to a good night of sleep!
