Alinssite beta and trach update

Alright, so I am going to be becoming operating system agnostic which means I am going to be using Windows a lot mixed with a lot of Linux and a lot of Mac, I realized I can’t rely on just mac for my website therefore Alinssite is going to go through WordPress as it’s backbone CMS, what’s that you say, that stands for Content Management System. It allows you to build a website and post it directly on the server from the server! Without the site ever being saved on your local hard drive, they are backed up weekly, not hosted on a unstable computer, and accessible from ANY computer with a standard web browser. Right now Alinssite 2.0 through WordPress is a BETA, which means I am working on implementation and stuffs and it’s gonna be buggy, so if you want to join the beta just go look at pages in the side bar! if not use Alinssite as normal! but be forewarned, once I complete it and see it as stable the old Alinssite will be gone forever and we will have a newer more centralized interface!

The sidebar is now on the left to closer mirror my original website!

First pic post op!

The code RED has been downgraded to code YELLOW as of yesterday

Yesterday we departed the house at approximately 12:40 pm arrived at the hospital at 1:08 pm arrived and began preop at 1:33 pm the procedure was gas only no iv maintainence. No screaming kids in the preop which was great!. Off to the O.R I went at 2:41 I woke up at 3:30 in post op and then got taken to post op phase 2 recovery and am enjoying the sevoflurane aftertaste and smell at 4;56 we boarded the ambulance my moms rig. We arrived at my picu at 6:20  it took this damn long because of some celebrity in town called lee from american idol, Thanks lee for delaying my arrival of getting home!!!

After we got home we had some fun with the camera taking random photos, you can tell I am high on sevoflurane in these photos! Click the photo above to see them!

It’s SEVO time again! The trach has ruptured!

Sevo time again

The countdown has been set everyone. less than 48 hours until the “surgery” to replace my ruptured trach tube. This is the second time this happened in a month period see here for the last event

CODE RED ACTIVATED TRACH CUFF RUPTURED

CODE RED HIGH ACTIVATED

This is our second code red in 3 weeks for the trach, I am seriously getting sick of calling code reds on this trach!!! The cuff has ruptured again, I woke up this morning able to talk and shouldn’t have as my cuff should have had air in it over night. I then tried inflating it with air, and inhaling and talking, voila, I could talk. Not a good thing. We are scheduled for a procedure on friday, unknown if there will be N2O or sevoflurane involved though one of them better be! I don’t think I can take the discomfort of having the trach changed without some sort of gaseous anesthetic induction. Right now they are talking morphine and Ativan, morphine works good for chronic pain but for sudden bursts, forget it. Ativan does nothing for me in the terms of anxiety relief, go figure! Thus I say Sevo time!

Phun Day at Unity, a post from dad for once

From my dads computer

On Saturday, May 8th from 8:00am to noon (or any part thereof!), we participated in the Practical Harmony of Unity Needs (or is that People Helping Unity Northwest?).  PHUN — get it?  We planted flowers; we pulled weeds, washed windows, cleaned the garage and cut down trees and chipped the trees.

So, much fun with the big boy toy, “THE Chipper” I heard one of the guys saying it’s so much fun it puts a smile on your face, watching the huge branches get chipped into little pieces, I’m so tired but I want to keep doing it, it’s so cool, As you watch the video the excitement is infectious as we keep the branches going through, it was like they say fun comes in all kinds of packages. Thanks Unity Northwest Men’s Group I had a blast at Phun Day. After all that, the guys fed us too, to Polish Spaghetti, so delightful I can’t wait to tell Mom about. I wish I could do more fun stuff, it’s great to volunteer.

From myself (alin)

Too bad I couldn’t be there to play with “THE Chipper” though I got this cool video to watch and indeed it is definitely looking like fun to throw things in…

So much for going to CDW today. One of the important offices that is vital to getting my machine EXCHANGED (not repaired) is closed Fridays. Our day is set for Monday!

Welcome to my world AUTISM

In other really cool news the Autism White Paper has been updated DRASTICALLY, it contains images of most of my objects that I use to satisfy my sensory needs. Of course all of the pictures are pulled from my Flickr Photos Area. It also includes enhanced descriptions of the objects I use NOW. The ribbon will take you to the report, the Flickr Photos Area link will obviously take you there. ENJOY!

Today we are heading to CDW to drop off my broken MacBook Pro that seems to have the “Hard Drive Killer” defect. Maybe I can get it exchanged, I got it in its original box and all with its original manuals, only thing I couldn’t find was the original restore disks, but who keeps track of those when you create a .dmg of the disk if your a geek? NO ONE! Anyhow I will have some news and MAYBE some photos from the trip. I am typing this on my MacBook Mini which is a Dell Mini 10v with mac loaded.

In other news my Autism White Paper is being revamped and will be done by this monday, expect it to have a lot of pictures and more information. I am quite excited about this big update!

Doctor Walner & Lunch

Today we went and saw Doctor Walner and the leak that I have is relatively normal however we will go back in 2 months and he might think about using stitches to tighten up that large V hole in my neck below the trach as that is not very normal. However he said all trachs heal differently and we might try a different tube or custom made tube, all depends. We are also going to try changing the trach ourselves but in the office under close monitoring with Morphine, Ativan, and Lidocane.

Me and my nurse Kelly and mom all went for lunch at a local restaurant and got her medical ID bracelet repaired on the cheap at a friends jewelery shop.
