Blog is up and running and The Vest is back!

The Vest System and Vests

Hello everyone, I’m posting this blog post using the MacSpeech Dictate system. And surprisingly it is working very well even though I’m on a ventilator in a tracheostomy. Anyways this is arbitrary so we’re going to get down to the actual news here.

As all of you know the old www.alinssite.info URL does not work anymore this is a result of the new domain transfer. We are now under www.alinssite.info for everything.

As a result of this there may be broken links everywhere. If you find one please reported directly to me via direct e-mail by responding to this blog post via your e-mail browser if you are subscribed to the e-mail otherwise use the contact me page.

All broken links in the blog have already been repaired so any links that are broken will probably be on the main website or on other websites in coming to this website. Alexander, man and the domain off me for a pretty penny. This “pretty penny” will help us pay for medical needs. It has been deposited into my trust account, anyone can deposit into the trust account using PayPal by clicking on the donate button on my main website.

My websites present uncool is a bit weird right now, I’m getting that fixed right now. Also there’ll be no statistics for the month of January!

By the way The Vest system is back in use, it was originally taken out of use in my house due to the baclofen pump NOT being approved for concomitant use with The Vest. Honestly IF IT WAS I don’t think I would be on this trach and vent right now. I no longer do the 2 20 minute sessions schedule i am now on a schedule where I need to accumulate 1 hour or more on the machine per day, the machine has an internal usage meter that i check daily to make sure i am meeting my usage goals which is quite easy. I got the machine up and running yesterday evening and did a bunch of sessions totaling out to 1 hour on the dot. love it.

My final goal is to work my way off the ventilator and maybe get extubated (trach removed)

A short goodbye… and a hello!

My sites will probably go down and be down for up to 5-7 business days while I get my Alinssite.info domain transferred and set up as the primary, yep that means no more .iguido.com crap!
PLEASE REFRAIN FROM COMMENTING ON THIS POST EVEN IF YOU CAN ACCESS IT FROM THIS DOMAIN.

PSCU Day 3, Discharge and more newsies… maybe.

The day before yesterday, Tuesday I had a thyroid blood test done and was then sent home via ambulance. I met an Awesome EMT and me and him are following via E-Mail now! SWEET! I also met this ultra cute female EMT on that ambulance who I won’t name for privacy purpose, but just watch out for rig number 533! Thats the party rig!

This being said I AM HOME, hopefully for a while this time. It’s not that I enjoy riding with you guys (Advance, Advantage, Superior, City ambulance) But I really need to stay home. Maybe I can take some of you for a joyride once in a while, non emergency non medical, you know… just a drive hahahah!!! Off Duty Ambulance joyriding. Now now now, I know ambulances are nearly always on call so there is really no possibility of this

(I might put some more news here… and I might not… depends. :P )

PSCU Day 2

My trach tube was screwed as of today and we don’t know if it was a tube defect that caused this major hole in my neck, but if it was Coviden (Owners of shiley company) is NOT going to be happy about where they are headed, it is 1:34 AM right now and its been showing this sign of total cuff failure for a few hours, if not days. The failure to heal may have been caused by a defective trach tube. Can any of you guess where this could be pointing? At 1:00 PM I had my trach tube changed with sedation by Versed and Morphine, as of 12:20 PM I was being hooked up to an IV pump to provide some extra hydration at 1:30 PM the change was done, a short R-Fib (Respiratory Fibrillation < high respiration rate and very shallow breaths with a lot of coughing) the R-Fib stopped about 5 minutes after the change. After that i got washed up and cardiology came in, mainly right now we are going to monitor and treat along the way until we can get the Esophageal Pacing Study done in the cath lab. Pulmonary and I are trying to see if we can wean me from the oxygen and only have it as a back up and insurance for when i am out of the house not monitored or in house and not monitored, but otherwise I won’t need to listen to the bloody concentrator all the time, that will be nice. I am down from 2LPM to 1.5 LPM and my PCO2 on my VBG (Venous Blood Gas) was perfect, doctor had my tidal volume raised a little bit.

Takedown request filed

Unfortunately the nurses from Lutheran General Hospital have submitted a formal takedown request which was just fulfilled. Unfortunately from this point on no videos from the hospital containing nurses, or people will be posted. Due to the legal ramifications of this there will no longer be such videos without explicit permissions from the hospital.

PSCU Day 1

Last night around 7:00 PM I noticed my heart rate rising rapidly, it hit 130 in no time and at that point I checked my blood sugar which was 169 mg/dL which is insanely high for me, my limits are 80-120 any time I am outside of them there is bound to be a problem. My heart continued racing and by 7:05 PM it was at 150 with a peak of 170, I called cardiology and they suggested to call an ambulance, mom spoke to them and they said the same especially after explaining the glucose, heart, thyroid, and trach issues. With all of that said around 8:00 PM the ambulance arrived, we tried to wait out the storm and it did no good, they then dispatched Superior Ambulance to the house to take me directly to Lutheran General Childrens Hospital ER as Northwest Community is not properly equipped for my case, not sure if it was pointed out before but there they called “Vent alert room 1A, Vent alert room 1A, Vent alert room 1A” repeatedly which did no good, I still had to wait 2 hours for a freaking HME (Heat Moisture Exchanger, it’s what you use when you don’t have a heated humidifier around) and a suction catheter that I needed to use to suction my trach THAT MINUTE, not 20 minutes later AFTER I started puking and taking it back into my lungs, And then they didn’t even have an empty leur syringe for me to fill my cuff BEFORE I began puking. What kind of emergency room is that!!! A disco-ordinated one at best. Last night I arrived in the ambulance and they opened the door and as that happened I heard “Superior Ambulance room 7, Superior Ambulance room 7, Superior Ambulance room 7″ The minute I got in there was a respiratory therapist there with suction catheters, HMEs, and was ready to grab a Fisher Paykel humidifier unit in a minutes reach. Within 20 minutes I had a heated humidifier completely hooked up and running, not 2 hours for an HME!!! Onto the reason for going in via Emergency, My heart was the main admission problem with my tracheostomy hole being secondary along with my possible thyroid and glucose issues. Testing will ensue tomorrow.

Overall my condition is considerably Stable

Whats wrong with these pictures?

ECG Strips of the SVT 2 days ago (click for bigger view)

Two days ago I randomly entered another SVT that lasted for a good 6 hours before it finally completely normalized. We really should have called an ambulance and will next time. My blood sugar was pretty high too just like the SVT before! ARGH! Cardiology is going to have us in for that special esophageal pacing study on Feb 4th more than likely barring any emergencies that might end up putting me in the PICU or PSCU… So this picture I kind of gave away whats wrong with it, MY HEART RHYTHM! Argh.

Day 3, from a good angle this time

Day 3, from a good angle this time

See that wite below my tracheostomy that looks like a hole in my neck, seems to me that my tracheostomy is either A. healing way too slow or B. taking a turn for the worse and getting skin degeneration down there. Either way I don’t like the way this picture looks. For all we know that thing could be messing with my thyroid and what not in my neck, egh! Let alone it just looks horrid and leaks air like no tomorrow. To be able to talk I need to pack the hole with gauze.

Phish Alert, Time to get your Phishing rod and catch the Phish, security upgrade

Official Security ImageShown above is the Alinssite security image, enlarged beyond its official usable resolution to thwart Phish. I have been having problems with a few of my friends getting E-Mails supposedly from Alinssite asking for money and contact info, I will NEVER ask for money OR your contact info unless YOU contact me via the authorizations page to give a gift or make a visit! These E-Mails are FAKES

From: (anonymized)

To: (Anonymized)

“Hi friend, It’s Alin here, I recently had big surgery and need money to pay off my medical bills. You can help me pay my medical bills by paying my agency at Bank of Nigeria Account Number #8591572 Or you can give me your financial info and I can charge your account for the amount you specify through ACH”

So far the E-Mails have been much like that, dead simple SCAMS. First of all I do not need money to pay my medical bills, I need money to pay for my wheelchair components such as the lock down for the van and ventilator mount. I have health insurance. Secondly I have no affiliation with Nigeria, I was scammed by a Nigerian once. Therefore, I am enacting a new security policy

1. Don’t give your contact information over ANY website except one beginning with http://www.alinssite.info/(page)

2. NEVER give your financial information directly to me, use the Paypal donate button! I do NOT have ACH origination, nor does any other individual in the world unless they are a BUSINESS and are registered and licensed as such!

3. NEVER reply to a FeedBlitz E-Mail unless it shows the security feature shown above along with a description of it

Following these things will keep you safe from scammers.
