Today we went to gastroenterology for two reasons. Somewhat of an urgent care appointment and not. My last spinal X-Ray series showed significant fecal impaction so today he wrote up some recommendations on how to create “Rocket Fuel” which is just a slang term for a very strong laxative mixture to literally act like rocket fuel and clean you out.

We also discussed my G-Tube and the diet I am on and all is well there. My weight is holding its own.

Sarah C came over today

Snuggling up to Sarah's warmness :)

Snuggling up to Sarah's warmness :)

I was quite excited when I woke up today since me and dad went north to pick up Sarah C from her house. Her dad over the last several weeks has proven to be a bit unreliable for picking up Sarah to come over to my house so my dad agreed that he would drive me up to pick her up. We left shortly before noon and got there half past noon and picked her up. I took a few pictures in the car, and also a bunch at my house. We had a lot of fun playing Grand Theft Auto: Vice City on my Sony Playstation 2 and we also flonked around with my iTunes music library. I helped her get a shiny new Gmail address in hopes of replacing her cruddy AOL E-Mail address that never seemed to work very well for me. We also did a lot of hugging and snuggling like above. After a while her mom came to pick her up and I discussed Sarah’s computer problem with her. They might bring her computer to me for me to fix the viruses.

I took a bunch of photos in the gallery above!

Bed delivery done with great difficulty

My New Hill-Rom CareAssist ES

My New Hill-Rom CareAssist ES

My bed is finally in!

It took a grueling process that started at 9:45 AM and didn’t end until 12:52 PM at first entry

First they tried bringing it up the back stairs and into the hall and then tried to swing it into my room standing up, wouldn’t work. The kitchen was a close shot so they tried swinging into there and then into my room, didn’t work. One of the crew men hurt their back, we started with a four person crew and then escalated to a 8 to 12 person crew. It became a huge operation, we ended up having to completely take out a window. The men screamed and struggled as they lifted the bed straight up many feet or so into the air to allow the other men to grab onto it as they pushed and the others pulled it in. at exactly 12:52 PM the bed was officially in the room unscathed. Pictures of the moving process and the bed are available by clicking above.

Old Invacare Bed Being Hauled Away

This is it, this is the end of the Invacare homecare bed. Out with the old in with the new starts tonight.

For tonight I will be sleeping in my powerchair, fine by me, it’s the most comfortable place I am ever in at any time. And thousands time more comfortable than that bed!

Keep an eye out for tomorrow! I can’t wait!

Pulmonary Functions Tests done again

Vmax Encore 22 Pulmonary Function Analyzer

Vmax Encore 22 Pulmonary Function Analyzer

Yesterday we went back to the hospital for series two of my pulmonary monitoring. I completed all of my tests with a man named Matthew who ran the machine. Just to disclaim this, the machine I was on yesterday was boxier and the patent circuit was on the left of the machine. I took the test again to see many of my values IMPROVED! My old FVC as of August 12th was 104% and now it is 114% which is apparently very good! I am very happy with this. I still seem to think that just an inhaler is not enough for me since my FVC does not represent cough or inhaling ability. And only one shot of the albuterol is not enough being a lot of it does not get into my lungs properly. So I am going to talk to my doctor about possibly trying a nebulizer, since it really helped my lungs clear out yesterday and also let me breathe better.

United States Passport Book

United States Passport Book

Immediately after going to Apple today we went to the United States Postal Service branch in our city and went to the passport office to get our passport stuff done. We met the sweetest passport agent ever there. She checked our passport applications very thoroughly and also really felt honored to be working a Make A Wish passport and so she gave us some special things. She said my moms photo was poorly taken, with poor look, and decided to do a FREE retake! She also helped us figure out how to get the Make A Wish checks work to pay it, they were a bit funky. She also when we were mailing them helped us jump in front of the queue!

Hmm, when will the United States Postal Service start offering Procare?
